What is Clubfoot?

When you first hear the words "clubfoot" or "talipes equinovarus", it’s normal to feel lost, worried, or even scared. We felt the same way. Honestly, until our daughter Halia was born, we had never even heard of this condition.

Clubfoot, or talipes equinovarus, is a congenital condition that affects the shape and position of the foot. Babies are born with one or both feet turned inward and downward, as if their little feet are “twisted.”
It might seem scary at first, but let me tell you something very important: there is a solution.

It is actually one of the most common birth conditions in newborns. And thanks to the Ponseti Method, it can now be corrected without major surgery, allowing children to walk, run, and play just like any other child.

Behind every twisted little foot, there is a story of bravery and hope.
We’re here to share our journey as a family and to remind you that you are not alone. There are thousands of families out there going through the same thing, and your little one will overcome this too.

Keep reading to learn more about how it is diagnosed, what causes it, and the different types that exist.
